The latest phase in the land grab by Google, Yahoo and Microsoft for distribution of their online ads and services appears to be nearing a close, following a partnership between Google and eBay announced yesterday.

The competitive jostling heated up about a year ago as the three companies talked to Time Warner about handling the search-advertising business of its AOL unit.

Now Google appears to be walking away the clear winner, having landed pacts with AOL, eBay, Dell and News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media division, which owns MySpace.com.
