Despite the fact that The American Academy of Pediatrics advises parents to limit or prohibit TV viewing among young children, parents are allowing their kids to watch TV, DVDs, play video games and use computers. However, there is a growing trend to get kids involved in more active play. There have recently been some books released to help parents encourage their kids to get outside with fun ideas to keep them busy and use their imaginations.

When it comes to children and screen time, less is better. For babies and toddlers, none is ideal — at least according to the American Academy of Pediatrics and many experts on child development.
